I saw my podiatrist on Monday. I am allowed full use of my foot now, with a shoe on, and found out something I wanted to share with you all.
The reason the doctors have you putting weight on your foot so early, even with all the swelling that comes with it etc, is to prevent disuse osteopenia. It is where the bone minerals start to break down because your body tells your foot it isn't being used so no need to rebuild bone.
How did I find this out? Because my surgeon's PA
