After having my MIS bunion surgery on 25.06.05. I felt pretty surprisingly good and was able to weight bare pretty much straight away... But my "ego" thought I wouldn't need any pain relief, but that's because the "nerve block" is very deceptive and tricks you into thinking you're Superman until it starts to wear off! Prior to the surgery I quite liked the "falling asleep" bit of the anesthetic, but after surgery I felt like my body was involved in the custody battle between hunger and nausea...but that has now gone. There have been some quite strong throbbing sensations in my foot at night making sleep the biggest challenge I'm facing at the moment... especially as I don't naturally sleep on my back. Even though I shuffle kinda like one of those walking dead zombies; I've upped my vitamin D with K2 intake and will continue with my vitamin C & zinc among others. I choose the MIS method, because I'm quite active and want gentle movement and mobility to be a part of my recovery process, but I'm writing these posts to "share" but not compare...but so far... despite the early challenges, I have no regrets. I've read a range of posts and experiences and have come to realise we're all individual, so it's important to stay as comfortable as possible and respect the healing process. Look after yourselves my friends. P.S. If this goes smoothly I will get the left one done as well.

Sounds like it is going well! I had mine on Friday and it is Sunday and I haven’t had any problems. I have had a little pain and swelling but its been great!

yeah when I was told I could do both I thought to myself let me knock them both out so I don’t have to do it again .. to be honest recovery is not bad at all .. I had a lot of help the first week but everyone works so I manage pretty well on my own and now going on my fourth week and able to wear shoes as tolerated I go back Tuesday for my follow up appt

... The idea of surgery is not an easy one (it took me about 25 years! 😅) but it eventually came down to the increasing levels of discomfort I was experiencing. I don't know your personal circumstances my friend, however, if you find that you're experiencing growing pain or discomfort, it's something to at least look into I think? I honestly believe everyone deserves to walk, pain-free and remember but no personal decision you make changes just how amazing you are. Take good care of yourself. 🙏🏾❤️💕

thank you. The crazy thing is I don't have any pain! I guess the good Lord blessed me with that. It just looks awful and it's really hard to get shoes that are comfortable to be in for a long period of time for work settings or dress occasion. That's a problem. And never wanting to be in a relationship because I don't want anyone to see my feet. It's hard enough when I'm around family or friends. Hate to get surgery just for vanity.

... Maybe it's not so much a vanity thing but a quality of life thing? I don't think there is anything wrong with feeling confident or making changes like people do with diet, fashion or even hair colour. But bunions even mild ones are medically considered a structural issue that impact foot mechanics, but having no pain is definitely a blessing. ☺️ Kay if you don't mind may I ask if you've seen a podiatrist about the issue?
