Anyone ever have ingrown toenail surgery problems?

Anyone ever have ingrown toenail surgery problems? I keep getting regrowth in the corners of my big toes after 4 to 6 months and have to repeat the process with my podiatrist. He says he's using the acid to prevent regrowth but it seems to be marginally effective. I'm also getting on and off neuropathy in my toes and front bottom of my feet ever since I've had the first procedure.

I have had a slither of toenail down the inside of both of my big toes removed. It helps tremendously. I have never heard of it growing back if permanently removed. Both of mine were done by a podiatrist. First doctor was very careful to get a good cosmetic result and remove only minimal amount to get relief. Second doctor wanted to permanently remove entire nail. I am so glad I didn’t let him do that. It sounds like you may want to get a second opinion from a different podiatrist. After care is important. First one, I used Dreft powdered laundry detergent mixed in something for soaking. Second podiatrist wanted me to use epsom salt. I think I was able to find info for Dreft and finished last few weeks with that. It works better. You could Google and probably find out how to use Dreft.

I did the aftercare including soaking. But I'm in the 10% of people that suffers from regrowth. The podiatrist was very good, he used the acid each time, but it still comes back. Lucky me.

I did not realize that it ever failed. How unfortunate! How many times have you tried it? I wonder if it won’t work at all for you or if it will eventually work but just take more attempts.
