Are ingrown toenails common after the surgery?

Are ingrown toenails common after the surgery? I’ve never had one before but I’m 6 month post op and I think I’m getting on on my big toe. It could also be completely unrelated

Yes. I am having the same issue. I had one on my left foot for years, but never my right which was my surgery foot. As I healed, I noticed I was developing one on my right foot too. When I saw my doc for my 3-month po checkup I mentioned them, and she told me that surgery can make them worse, but it was mostly hereditary due to the shape of my nails. The one on my left was super painful so she fixed it right then and there. They give you a numbing shot and then cut the sides of your nail clear down. They put a chemical on them to keep them from growing back. I go back on Monday to have the right one done. Good luck to you!

I have one too my surgeon is going to do a procedure to sort it out I have told not to bang it it's very sore x
