I had bunion surgery last year. While doing the surgery my doctor also performed a Topaz (?) Procedure to help the PF. I felt like my PF was worse after surgery but about 6 months later it got better. Now I am back to having a lot of pain. I saw a different podiatrist recently and he said I need insoles. He said the surgery fixed the bunion but I need insoles to keep my foot in the right position to keep the bunion from coming back and the insoles should also help the PF. He compared it to getting new tires on your car but still needing an allignment to keep the tires new. Not sure if all that helps!

Couple of questions.
Couple of questions. Does anyone have bunions along with PF? I think the bunions are part of the reason for my PF (the way I put weight on my feet). I'm having bunion surgery in a few weeks and I'm wondering what being off the foot will do for PF. Anyone have a similar situation? Did it make PF go away?

it does. Its a reminder that even after surgery you have to take care and continue with the insoles and supportive shoes. Thanks!
I also have bunions on both feet. I was in the hospital for two weeks with neck surgery and the pf went away but it came back.
