Diabetic neuropathy after managing health: how to cope?

Archive date 13 archived replies

Had a diabetic neuropathy test today. They said I have neuropathy in both feet. A little aggravated that I did all the diabetes requirements and tried to manage my health for years but got it anyway. I know I wasn’t 100% compliant but I did better than many people I know. Your body is going to act however it wants. Now the road to pain management. Welcome old age.

If it’s any comfort, I have neuropathy as well although not diabetic, thank God! And, like you, I ate right and exercised. Still have neuropathy and “idiopathic “ foot pain for over 10 years. Makes me wonder…☹️

Just look at it as if you did not do all those things to manage your health, the neuropathy would be worse than it is at this time.

I have it too. It stinks, not sure where it comes from???

I too have Peripheral Neuropathy and remedies for pain such as Gabapentin or Lyrica were discussed. However, after reading more research, it's a temporary fix with side affects and efforts for nerve innervation (regeneration therapy) are stifling in that process and to your progress. This is the best resource I have discovered during all of my specific research: https://www.youtube.com/@NerveDoctors

The dr prescribe gabapentin but I read the side effects and I’m not sure about those harmful side effects vs just letting my feet hurt.

No rhyme or reason! I don’t have diabetes, but I have neuropathy like nobody’s business

, no underlying condition that I know of. I’ve been on Lyrica for several years, 75 mg morning and night. Doesn’t take the pain away but helps.

thank you for the info. They are putting me on Glipizide. I will get it in a few days and try it. I heard frankenscent help? Don’t know
