Had xrays yesterday, planning opting for bilateral MIS. Surgeon said this procedure has improved so much in the last 5 years and success rates superseded traditional methods. I need to pick a date but looking like October. Very nervous but he confirmed that I need it done as pain levels will get worse

I let mine wait too long....The pain was so bad I couldn't lay a bedsheet over it! It was done mini 4 years ago. I have a pin in foot.

I had minimally invasive surgery on my left bunion back in May. No hardware and 3 pinhole incisions. Was back to full activity 10 weeks post op.

I had my done for the second time on the same foot 13 days ago, I was told I could “maybe” start walking again Thursday when the stitches come out. I’m still in pain. But I’m just ready to get back to being normal lol.

Please post experience w before and after pictures. Very similar. Mine have had short seasons of hurting but don’t now and haven’t for years.

I am wearing the brand Altra for running. My podiatrist recommended them due to the wide toe box.

I dont regret having it done, it was far less faff than I had imagined. Unfortunately Im having some pain now at 3.5 months because I transitioned too quick back into my barefoot shoes and went hiking, now my foot is really protesting! and the other one as its taking more strain...Im feeling cross with myself and hoping the surgeon doesnt blast me next week ( final xrays) I would strongly recommend taking it steady as the foot is such an amazing complex piece of bio structure, but needs time to heal correctly. Hope my screws havent budged 🙁

may I ask why a second time and was it mini last invasive with or without hardware?

I had it done 16 years ago and my foot started shifting back, and I had hardware already in. It wasn’t mini this time around, he told me if I didn’t have hardware in, it would’ve been. I know from feeling kinda I have two big incisions. I’m not sure if he put hardware back in or not, I’ll find out Thursday.

so happy to hear something good about this scheduled for tomorrow and I’m terrified. How long did you have to wait to get the second foot done? I have to have both done and my doctor really did not want to do them at the same time, but I really would like to get them done as close together so my recuperation period won’t be so long.

my dr said to few a few months in between but I waited a year because of my work schedule. Honestly, I'm glad I did because I wanted my foot to heal more. You will do great! I know everyone is different but I had mild pain for the first couple of days and then I was fine. The worst part for me was not washing my foot with water until the stitches came out and now on my right foot waiting to drive. I would do it all over again. Good luck
