Has anyone age 18 had bunion surgery and fusion?

Has anyone age 18 had bunion surgery and fusion? My daughter is on Monday. Keen to hear about other's experiences. She hopes to ski end of January. Surgeon said she'll be walking in 8 weeks.

I just fixed both bunions on a high school senior year last year. According to her mom, she’s having a great time in college now with no issues

I had bunion surgery and then second toe fusion.. but I had pins in my second toe.. I was heel walking day after surgery ( told I was allowed too but the pain was intense so the first week I was resting and trying to keep any pressure off it and then fully normal walking in 12 weeks

I’m due bunion and fusion surgery and will be in a boot for 8 weeks then physio after that don’t know if I would be able to do anything strenuous for a while .They said swelling is the most common problem after surgery .

Fusion seems like an unusual surgery for an 18 year old. Big toe fusion (MTP arthrodesis) is usually done when there is severe arthritis in the joint.
