Before surgery my left foot was 1/2 inch longer which was a problem bc I have very narrow feet and the left big toe hit the end of the shoe. If I went longer, too wide. My surgeon said the burr usually removes a few mm of toe length, but he could squeeze in a couple more. 4 mm made a big difference for me and now my feet are identical and shoes fit better. It’s something to think about when you discuss w surgeon. I always hated that long big toe.

Has anyone else come out of surgery with 2 different sized feet?
Has anyone else come out of surgery with 2 different sized feet? Before surgery, my right foot was a size 10 and my left foot was an 8. After 2 failed bunion surgeries and a 3rd reconstructive foot surgery, my right foot is now a size 11.5 and my left is still a size 8. Finding shoes is a NIGHTMARE. By the time my right foot fits, the left is so big. It’s just flopping around like a fish. I can no longer wear most shoes, including any boots (even the Ugg type boots). I tried 2 different sizes of shoes, but it threw my balance off and I never was able to work past it. If anyone has dealt with this, what fixes did you find?

Have you tried split sizing, maybe Nordstroms or asking at your local running store (https://www.abilityhacker.com/where-to-buy-shoes-when.../)
SupportiveHummingbird5741 I tried split sizing in a store, and it made my balance feel really unbalanced. The size difference is so big. But maybe that is something I could get used to over time? I’ll check out the link!
oh man I’m so sorry! Have you also tried PT? It might not just be shoe size but also muscle strength & flexibility differences? My operated foot was only slightly different in size but drastically different in strength for awhile and that made my balance worse. But is better now!
Did you try orthotics for the smaller foot, so if you bought a pair of shoes, the orthotic would take up the room of the smaller foot to match the bigger foot? I’m sure you’ve tried a lot to figure this out already.
