Have any of you had a toenail permanently removed and eventually had that nail area tattooed?

Have any of you had a toenail permanently removed and eventually had that nail area tattooed? I had a thick toenail removed over 20 yrs ago with hopes of it growing back normal and, of course, it grew back the same. I'm now having it removed permanently. I usually paint my toenails and I figure tattooing that area would help it look more normal/natural. TYIA
