I have had 2 surgeries on the same foot in a 3 month period. My first they placed toe in the wrong position so I couldn't walk, my bone was fractured , i had a bone protruding from my foot, and the screws worked their way through my bones. 2nd surgery I just had December 30th bigger incisions, they removed the 2 screws i now have a massive plate to help hold bones in place and 4 new screws have been put in. Hopeing this is the lastšŸ¤ž

My surgeon choose what I call the torture bankscrew surgery called Weill 2,3 osteotomy to treat the recurring synoviale cyste at thƩ base of my 3rd toe. I'm currently 19 weeks post-op and have now 2 floating toes and very painful joints on thƩ 2nd and 3rd toe and a lot of pain at the red circle. My 2nd and 3rd toe now look like hamertoes that In did not have before this over used Weill 2,3 surgery. Saturday my husband and I walked between 6 to 7 kms and Sunday between 2 and 3 kms. This morning it truly is al blue monday. Before getting up the circled area felt severely bruised and I already needed a tradonal Odis in the morning. I still wish every day that I could turn back time and keep my recurring synoviale cyste with occasionnaly painful electric zaps who where way less painfull then this torture surgery. I'm so afraid that this pain will never end and that my toes are now hamertoes caused by this Weill 2,3 osteotomy. I hate the inventor of this over used torture surgery. All i will ever allow on my left foot tot correct my toes has to be done under local anesthesia, so MIS of cutting the tendons. I Will not allow an extremely painfull torture revision surgery which has a too high percentage for failure for me.

I’ve had 3 ļæ¼surgeries on one foot. The first was the original surgery, second was removing hardware, third was for shaving down bone. It sucks!! I still have a lot of pain too. šŸ˜” Good luck!

sorry to hear you’re going through this. It’s a reminder that we always assume things are going to go well with surgery. I hope you don’t have to go through any more procedures. Good luck with recovering. X

wow.. not fun at all I'm sorry you had to go through that but also in a strange way somewhat reassuring to know I'm not the only one to experience such severe complications. Something similar happened in terms of timeline with me, I did both feet at the same time, then around months 3-4 I noticed the bunion came back (confirmed by X-rays almost to the same degree ad pre op), turns out as well the Fibre wire the doc put in tying my two metatarsals together had almost sawed through my second metatarsal and I ended up needing revision + fixation of my left foot 5 months. My first doc was dismissive and insisted everything was fine and that I just worry too much. Thankfully second doc was able to fix my feet with 2 plates and like 13 screws. Hope things worked out for you in the end

oh gosh, I’m so sorry to read that. I wished I’d have put up with the bunion pain to be fair, however, I knew that was going to get worse.

I can see you other floating toes. A second opinion told me that unless corrected they get arthritic very quickly
