Hello foot peeps! I’ve been so active and love running /hiking. The top of my big toe hurts and just gets worse: tendinitis, nerve pain, arthritis I have no idea. I do have a moderate bunion in that area. I have nonrefundable reservations at the bottom of the Grand Canyon/ phantom ranch. Currently miserable due to lack of hiking. Have a podiatrist appointment in two weeks, which is too long. what’s the likelihood I can get a Cortizone shot? Thanks! See less

I had same problem-took a bit to get diagnosed. Though. Nothing showed on X-rays, finally got an Ultrasound that showed fluid on the joint. Then I got the cortisone shot.

You can likely get a cortisone shot if it’s inflammation-related, like arthritis or tendinitis. It helped me push through a trip once, but make sure it’s the right diagnosis first.
