Hey all, I had a chevron done in Sept of 25' for a minor bunion that was causing me a lot of pain at the time. For all intent and purposes the surgery was successful. I had xrays every 4 months and everything has healed and looks great, on imaging..... what i did not expect is that my new gait would completely ruin my knees and have me end up with SI joint dysfunction in my mid 30s. I had bunionectomy and lapidus of right foot in Jan 2025, the bunion came back within 6 months. The surgeon did not address meta tarsal adductus,and fused my first metatarsal and cuneiform joint without my consent. After going through pain from hardware I went to different surgeon and they have removed most of the hardware removed except the large screw that was used for fusing the first metatarsal and second cuneiform joint. Developed wound infection. Hospitalized for I&D surgery and 5 days for IV antibiotics. Discharged with PICC line to continue IV antibiotics at home for 6 weeks. Again walked on foot too much and swollen and incisions don't look good. Stupid!?! Self-willed, noncompliant, foolish. I was the one who had no pain for 4 days post-op.
