Hi all, my minimally invasive surgery is Thursday (distal metatarsal and akin osteotomy) with nerve block. Curious when everyone started their pain meds? Like right after surgery or towards end of first day before it wears off? I know it's important to get ahead of the pain just wondering if I should be "saving" them for when the nerve block wears off? Any other tips you have is much appreciated! The straps on my boot were long enough that I just stuck the Velcro around the boot.

One week post op appointment this morning, everything looking good and healing well! MIS Distal metatarsal and akin osteotomy. I've been elevating non stop and icing pretty much 24/7 with a cold therapy machine 10min on 10min off. He said I can continue sleeping with the cold machine on if I want. I slipped off the scooter and hit on my heel pretty hard last night but doesn't appear to have caused any damage. Still a good amount of pain whilst sleeping and if up for too long, but one week down! Hope anyone else currently through surgery is doing well! See less

I got my flat boot today. I was in a heel boot. But I haven’t tried walking in the flat one yet. How is it for you? I’m 11 days out.

Looks great! Just had my surgery today and in overnight at the hospital, feeling okay so far. At what point did any pain start kicking in for you?

Pain help! Seems like a lot of people stop pain meds after a few days, I had a pain pump that last 3.5 days after surgery. Now I feel hardly any pain where the "cutting" of the bone was, but man is the nerve pain/prickling/blood rushing so painful! It feels like my foot is burning any time I get up to just use the restroom and stays burning for like 45 min after laying down. For that alone I need pain meds and I'm day 6 post op an

I am 9 wks post op and still have nerve pain at night. First month I needed my pain med only at night to sleep due to how severe the nerve pain was. I am now in gabapentin at night. I think some of us are just more susceptible to nerve pain. I had 2 c
