Hi everyone! I’m new here! I spoke to my primary this morning and they are sending me to a podiatrist. But I have had pain in my foot for a few weeks now, and the past 2 days it started getting worse. After an examination I saw this! It’s under a thick layer of skin and I can’t find ANYTHING online that looks like it. I can’t feel anything when I run my finger over it because it’s so deep, but it really hurts to walk on. Any ideas?

Could be a plantar wart but I haven't seen one that doesn't reach the surface. Could also be a corn.

Infected sweat glan

Did you step on something previously? Maybe it's a partical that's super deep or bruised really deep

Plantar wart is my educated guess, because of the black dot. I had one that looked very similar. They grow deep and are very painful.

It looks like a plantars wart. I had one years ago. It hurt if I stepped on anything. I thought something was in there and tried digging it out. It bleed a lot ( I don’t recommend it) but dr ended up freezing it off.

Plantar wart!!!!! I've had them....and some are like this below the surface. As stated above deep and painful. Can be removed by a dermatologist

Seed corn maybe . I have the same thing in the exact same spot . Eventually it grew above and came off like a seed of corn . It grew back after that again and did the same thing . It hurts for sure . Let me know what doctor says ?

My uneducated guess is planters wart. I had one once. Hurts like heck.

Looks like a corn....I have been having inverted coins removed?..like diamond shaped with the point Ponting inward. Very painful...

I was looking at those but I also haven’t seen a corn that doesn’t reach the surface. Also, I’m a SAHM with 3 under 3 so I wear shoes maybe once a week!

I mean like maybe a month ago or so, sometimes a tiny tip of a sticker can break off deep under the skin and then create issues later when it starts to fester deep in the skin. Just a thought. I knew a girl who's little one crawled over some stickers, she picked them out, but three months later his leg swelled up really bad and when they couldn't figure out why, did an MRI and found the tiny tips of the sticker spine burrowed super deep.

Hmm, that’s good to know. I’m sure the podiatrist will be able to tell me, I’m just nervous of how deep it is.

It's a virus. I'm not scientist but I don't think it needs an opening. It might be something else. But I treated mine like a wart and it eventually went away. It took awhile.

did the freezing it off hurt? Did they numb you before or give you something after ? I’m terrified. I have a huge wart on the bottom of my foot that is very painful

Thanks for the help everyone! For all those that are curious, I had a tiny hair embedded in my foot 🤷‍♀️ I’m still amazed
