Hi Everyone Thanks for the Add. I’m trying to find other Cancer people on Chemo Taxotere that have been diagnosed with Hand and Foot Syndrome? If you never heard of it your heel is on fire (worse sunburn ever) Your nails start to darken, lift up, causing fungus under them. Without nails on your hands it’s difficult to do things, the 0nes on my toes I extremely painful This is horrible to where I need a cane to walk and only wear cushy sandals. I’ve seen podiatrist all he said was moisturizer (Urea)(Lidocaine) and neosporin for the nails. Nothing helps This weekend put me over the top in pain. I’ve got a message off to my oncologist and also request an appointment with a Podiatrist Surgeon. I’m not sure if I can add pictures as this is my first post?

I hope someone has some answers for you, that looks so painful. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. You may also ask your oncologist to hook you up with a blog of other cancer patients, that was a great resource for me when symptoms were not documented by standard means.

I only had some neuropathy during and after chemo......now my neuropathy is so bad i can only be on feet a couple hours and my toenails feel like theyre being pulled out one by one (mainly both big toe nails). Oncologist has me on vitamin therapy....help just a tad but not at all any more. Im so sorry 🙁. Prayers your way!

I actually was able to get in to a Podiatrist Surgeon tomorrow. I’ve searched and searched there isn’t much out there. Even my resources at Moffitt Cancer Ctr. Says there isn’t much out there about this side-effect. I’ve only found one other person who had this happen to them but not to my extent. I didn’t even mention the Neuropathy 😱 I take Vitamins B6, B12, D and Calcium. Now, when I go for my infusion they give me ice bags for my hands and feet when I get the Taxotere and it seems to help the Neuropathy.

no you didnt mention neuropathy, so didnt know if somehow it was related. Im sorry youre experiencing all of this. I hope they find something that will help you!

Oh my sry your going through this.my feet go red longer I'm on them.
