Hi good people. Wondering how many of us had nerve damage and onset CRPS? I had bunion surgery beginning Aug. The aftermath was very painful due to neuropathy. The pain now is manageable... more tingly. My problem is lack of motion in foot and toes. I have crps. Currently having physio. My toes are not flush to the floor and very rigid. Any advice would be very appreciated. I'm due total knee replacement in a couple of months on same leg. I'm a little worried. I'm in the UK by the way. X

What is CRPS?

PLEASE TALK TO YOUR DR FIRST. Did you move toe a right after surgery? I was going to ask Dr but I remained quiet. When he finished he showed me what to do right after surgery. I read this. I barely found it. How to Prevent Big Toe Joint Stiffness. Moving the big toe joint after surgery can keep the joint supple and limit scar tissue formation.

Can Surgery Cause Your Bunions to Come Back?

it stands for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Basically it's nerve damage.. your body has an abnormal reaction to the operation resulting in pain, tingling, loss of flexibility. My toes hardly move and my foot now has limited movement and is weak.

for me, unlike others with crps, the pain isn't really the problem. it's very tingly but I can live with that. It's the weakness and inflexibility in the foot and toes that is more of a problem . X

I couldn't do much straight after surgery but could wiggle toes. Big toe moves...just not enough and is not flush with the floor. Stiffening of the toes and foot is all part of crps. Having lots of physio... 🤞 Last saw my consultant 3 weeks ago that's when he diagnosed crps.

not wiggle. It’s a put mild pressure on foot and holding specifically like Dr said abs move up. Reposition and move again. He showed me hands on and said specifically only this. No wiggle

Thankyou. well, I followed my surgeon's advice not to do too much for the first 6 weeks. We're all given different advice depending on what procedure we've had done. For me It's not just the big toe...it's whole foot. I have arthritic toes and damage to the plantar plate and procedures to tendons and ligaments. If physio and podiatrist cannot sort it then it's possible I'll have further surgery. My original question is to people who have crps and what they have experienced. X

so sorry to hear this. How does it affect you? Do you have lots of pain? I'm fortunate in that my pain is mild in comparison to most but I'm unable to walk for more than 20 mins or so. Do you mind sharing your experience with me? X
