My bunion was similar to yours. I had my operation 10 weeks ago after cancelling it once. I was very scared about the surgery. It was fine the bad pain never came just sore and achy. Rested as told to now back at work and very pleased. Feel mad at my self that I did not have it done year ago. I read far too much on fb!

Hi, I feel terribly embarrassed about my feet however I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on my bunion?
Hi, I feel terribly embarrassed about my feet however I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on my bunion? Would you say minimally invasive surgery would work on a buinion like mine? Iv been considering going to my gp to enquire about surgery for some time. It doesn't give me terrible pain but I do feel it's worsening, getting more prominent and it really rubs becomes sore/some throbbing occasionally. I'm terrified of surgery after reading people's ongoing problems after surgery but don't want it to get any worse either I'm 42. Thanks so much for reading. Surgery feels like a roll of the dice!

My advice is research your doctors, talk to several if you can. If you have a good surgeon he will pick the right surgery for you. I had mine done on 21st of Feb. Have had very little pain. I haven't started weight bearing on it yet, but I have been able to walk with an off weight shoe. Do what the surgeon tells you to do and don't rush it. Good luck!
I am in the UK, walking fine and back to the gym three times a week. It was the surgery were they removed the bunion and straightened big toe with two pins. I really liked the surgeon and he has a good reputation.
I let mine wait too long. It began hurting with just a sheet on it! I had surgery 2 1/2 years ago and can walk with ease now. It was keeping me from getting up and walking and I knew I had to do something. Talk to a Dr and you'll know if he's right to do it.
I had no problem with mine and I could walk on it the same day. I didn't even need any pain medication.
I regret having mine done with a podiatrist. My big toe isn't straight and is still pushing on my second toe. I ended up with a plantar plate repair and a bunionectomy. The plantar plate repair was worse. I would definitely go to an orthopedic surgeon.
Had mine done today and got a block with it. Love of course not having any pain but the immobility is really strange, can walk with boot on of course but can't bend my foot. Eagerly waiting now for it to wear off. But mine looked like this & my doctor said I was a good candidate for it. I too wasn't having awful problems with it but it did hurt sometimes and didn't want to wait to wait any longer fearing it would worsen. Oh & yes postponed 2x out of fear. you are not alone.
Yours definitely will be by MIS , if I am not wrong. Avoid over corrected and insert too many hardware like mine. Caused pain which don’t go away only look nicer ! I rather no more pain 🥱
Mines growing back 😧
Use castor oil pack and taping foot...bigger shoes
wow that's amazing that you have had such a positive experience. Do you feel you can just walk on it quite normally now? Could I ask what kind of surgery you had and where abouts you are? Thanks so much for your reply 🙂
just wanted to mention also that I did not have much pain previously but the bunion was getting bigger so i figured it would be an easier operation that if I left it to get worse.
yes u blessed. 2 pins or screws ?
Lee I’m in the UK too. May I ask the name of your surgeon.
i think screws actually.
Mr Rees. Highly recommended. I am in the midlands.
so sad ! Over corrected/or under?
under corrected
A bunion only gets worse over time you can try orthotics in your shoes for some relief but eventually surgery down the road Ask your Dr or check with your insurance to find a podiatrist In Network to see what they suggest
Go with a orthopedic surgeon can go wrong
I have one similar.. The podiatrist said nowhere near surgery. She recommended good sneakers, inserts and I also got a thing online that corrects the alignment of the toe over time. It retrains the muscles. Good luck
I want surgery too only in United States 🇺🇸 if someone let me know how much ist without insurance. Thanks .I hope my pain is going
Don’t do it!!!
Looks more like hallux rigidus
