Hi members . This lump appeared on my daughter’s foot (aged 11) 3 weeks ago , it’s hard and very sore in shoes , could it be a Tailors Bunion ?

I got my bunions age 8 to 9 due to small shoe size i have them on both feet they really hurt. I am a single parent to a child with autism with no help so surgery is off the table for me but i really wish it had been dealt with when i first got them.
I would still get looked at, save future problems and confirm if is bunion which can cause trouble in the long run, she’s young
If that bump is just 3 weeks old, I'm guessing it is not a bunion. Bunions occur slowly over time.

Yes, that is what it looks like. There is a FB group with Podiatists who would be better able to diagnose than I. My skill is figuring out why it is happening.
It could be a small bone as there are many in the foot, have a Dr. or specialist look at it, could cause problems in the future that can't be fixed.
You are absolutely correct. I developed one of these last year. It didn’t hurt at first but got worse & ended up hurting. I had key hole surgery in November & it healed well. Unfortunately there is no fix when a bunion gets to this point, despite some of the adverts which float around. Happy to answer any questions if you have any.

yeah i have to buy wide toe box trainers its a pain
I did think the same , her feet have really grown in the last 6 months and her feet have become so wide .
I would take her to a podiatrist. They will most likely order xrays prior to the visit.

thank you . I was reluctant to involve the GP at first as appointments are like gold dust but I definitely will now , I’d hate to think this was a lifelong battle as others on here had .

yes, she’s fairly young - bless her. Let me know if you need details of where I had surgery. I can pm you. It’s in London done by a great surgeon. I wish your daughter the best of luck ☝️
thank you 🙏. I’ll contact our GP and see what they suggest . It’s a shame as she’s very active and I don’t want it to hold her back , let alone the issue with finding suitable shoes 🤦🏽♀️
I would recommend going for a consultation & x ray & ask the surgeon as I’m not really qualified to answer that. What I would say is that if it’s causing pain, then that’s probably a good time to consider surgery.
yes it did , I never noticed it and she reassures me it’s only been hurting lately although she has very wide feet so I assumed it might be the starting of a bunion that is sore and swollen from the rubbing of her shoes 🤷🏻♀️
It would be good to take it to a doctor for a better evaluation.
I have a tailor's bunion and it is very painful, but it appeared over time and not overnight.
I have this exact same thing and i swear for the comfort of it it is a life saver ill attach it here so you can see it won't fix anything but just to feel comfortable in

really comfortable it dint feel painful or any rubbing on the foot
