This can be removed. It’s actually at the base of the toe nail. Growth plate is open, so would be best to wait some on that until it closes, typically by 20 years old, maybe sooner for that bone.

so the bone can be shaved down on the outside of both toes? It just seems wider/bonier than it should. i want it to be narrower

it can be. It’s referred to as a condylectomy. The reviver is less than 1 week.

Thank you! I've been googling for months trying to figure out the name of the bone and what the procedure is called. Could this be causing ingrown toenails ? I feel like it's always pushing on the side of my shoes

- could be, but normally that’s at the very tip of that bone. It’s likely more how the toe is rotated or squeezed as you push off each step
