I’m curious how many of you diagnosed yourself? I noticed over 7 years ago that one of my big toenails was thick then it ended up spreading to other toenails (3 on each foot) so I researched it and learned that it was toenail fungus. I have treated toenail fungus ever since (I have used everything from fungi nail, listerine, apple cider vinegar, Vicks vapor rub, Lunavia, Lakeim & the only oral medication I have taken to get rid of toenail fungus is Terbinafine) I have filed, soaked and done everything I could think of to get rid of it, I finally can see pink in my toenails and my toenails are much better but the bottom of my toenail still isn’t pink so when I went to the doctor at the foot and ankle institute (because my foot was hurting, after X-rays I found out it was broken, while I was there I asked him how I could completely get rid of my toenail fungus he said I don’t look like I have toenail fungus, then when I was at my PCP to get my liver tested because I had been on Terbinafine over 3 months she said my toenails look fine then she said that I don’t look like I have toenail fungus. I took this picture before I stopped putting anything on my toenails June 7th, then I stopped the Terbinafine July 15th and now my toenails aren’t as pink.

When I first got it I had my toenail pulled off. The doctor gave me ointment and it went away right away but I had done in Mexico. See if your doctor can just pull them off they will numb your toes.

interested to hear about Vuret. I have discolouration, had toenails tested and not fungus.

What did you ask in order to get that testing. I went to a podiatrist and didn't offer that at all.

I got it tested at my doctor. They took samples and sent it away to be tested. Then you get a referral.

When you say doctor are you talking about your PCP? I’ve had 2 different primary care physicians that gave me medicine for toenail fungus without ever even looking at my toenails (when I went back in to get my liver tested because I had been on Terbinafine for 3 1/2 months which is longer than your supposed to be on it without checking the liver function, then they finally checked my toenails and the lady said my toenails look fine.

Yes they are much better than what they used to be but the bottom of my toenails are not pink and looks cloudy so I figured the toenail fungus wasn’t completely gone but I’ve read several peoples comments in our group stating that toenails regrow with pink starting at the bottom of the toenails first (but would that be if you had your toenails removed?
