I was told this isn't that uncommon. It happens about 30% of the time, and even if it were to come all the way out, the new method of doing this surgery doesn't use wires at all. Anyway, my ortho surgeon cleaned my toe, clipped the wire and redressed the foot with orders to contact the hospital again if I see anymore wire. The tingling in my toes changes to slight pain at night. These are all issues I did not have prior to the surgery. I'm waiting on referal to w nerve doctor so I can explore what is happening. Bloodwork has been completed by my GP to rule out anything else that could be going on. Bloodwork came back perfect.
