Wow, I was walking day 1, with the boot...be careful. I guess instructions are all different depending on the severity of the bunion.

My before and after.
My before and after. Surgery on 12/18. Just had my 6 weeks. Doc told me to begin walking yesterday. Day 1 of weight bearing was painful on the bunion area. Lots of pain in the night. I guess that’s just part of healing. See less

Ohh no! You should have been weight bearing after one week. Go easy now, but constant, if you don't walk a bit the bone will not merge as expected. I had a similar operation in November and was advised to start weight bearing after a week. No boot, just an orthopedic shoe and light compression bandage. It still hurts and it's rigid but way better movement than back then right now. It's a slow process. I am angry with my dr who simply didn't care,so I asked for advice in this and other groups on FB, got conflicting advice but took into account the ones that sounded reasonable. Asked for a second opinion, awaiting response from the hospital...
