Please recommend a wide toe box trail shoe, waterproof, that will accomodate my bunions and hamner toe.

I recommend you visit orthofeet online. You can search by condition and many of their styles overlap multiple conditions. They have a generous return policy, but I never had to use it. This site is very informational and I recall when I called their Customer Service a few years ago they were very helpful. I don’t know about waterproof, but they’re always adding to their line.

Hi, I wear Topo trail shoes. They're not waterproof but I wrar waterproof socks if it's wet. They have a wide, foot shaped toe box, really comfortable. I usually wear mens wide but don't need wide in Topos.

My background is this- we have a small farm on the side of a mountain and I'm outside most days, rain or shine and average 2-5 miles each day, up and down hills, thru mud/grass/rough rocky steep paths and flat pasture. Your options really depend on what size you wear and what your width is. If you can size up into a man's shoe it gives you more options.... Men's shoes are wider from the get-go. We try to stay with a natural foot-shaped shoe, I cannot wear a truly barefoot shoe. I wear a women's 6.5 EE – so I cannot find a men's shoe small enough. And, most of my width is across the forefoot...but not ALL of it....so bean-shaped shoes don't work for me. Just because a shoe is described as wide doesn't mean it's foot shaped. I can get a new balance in a double e but it's still squeezes my feet because it's not foot shaped. And for me there's NOTHING "waterproof." I can choose between fit or moisture. I have a pair of Meindl boots that are the SHIZNIC when it comes to water proof and durability- but they are not at all comfortable/ wide enough. I remove the insert and even pried up the footbed... I wear them on really rainy but hot days (because I got nothing else) ...after an hour I am limping. Daily wear- Altra Lone Peak mids (most dry days.) They do have a water proof version, but I have found it doesn't hold up as long. To be honest, Altras don't hold up that long at all. If it's a "wet but not splashy/deep water" summer day, I wear Altra Alpine- they are really water resistant (but not a truly a trail shoe IMO.) For truly wet days I just wear ill-fiting muck boots. I do plan on trying the lun'r boots this year...but that's not what you are asking.

Go to Amazon type in box toe shoes. They are orthopedic too. Good feet store has shoes to but it's costly.

Hoka does have trail shoes that come in wide and although they could be even wider, they’re very comfortable. I guess they’re the best of anything I’ve ever tried. Totally waterproof. Not ugly in my eyes 🙂 I love these:
