So… my surgeon says with the bunion removal and fusing the big toe, plus cleaning out arthritis here & there, I can be back to work (from home) within 2 weeks. Is that practical?? Just curious - this sounds more painful than my knee replacements, but I heal fast. Thanks for any thoughts!

Do you stand or sit? Standing probably not. Sitting should be possible if you can elevate your foot.
From home yes, commuting no
I work from home too. My surgery for lapiplasty was Thursday and I am back at my desk today. I am keeping it elevated and iced still. With icing and pain meds I am in less pain than I was before the surgery.
Having same thing done and said walking immediately after in a boot back to work in 2 weeks as long as someone can drive me being it’s my right foot
Yes, I think it’s reasonable. Rest & stay on your meds for those 2 weeks & you’ll be ready to resume work from the comfort of your sofa or bed. 🤩
Soooo... I said 2 weeks, my doctor said no 6 weeks, we settled at 4 if I feel comfortable. He still pulled me for the full 6 weeks plus some because I had cartilage built up around my joints when they got in there. He told me to go back when I was comfortable. But I will tell you in my case the exhaustion has been the struggle but for some reason I can't sleep at night, not sure why.
I was back WFH two weeks. Elevated my foot as high as I could while at my desk. During my breaks elevated and iced as often as possible. And (Tylenol) to keep the pain at bay. Wasn’t bad - after 4 weeks tons better
Yes, with a laptop in your lap, as long as you keep that foot elevated.
I was working from home at 1 week from the recliner and laptop. Started at desk around 4-5 weeks taking frequent breaks to elevate and ice. Good luck
perfect!! Totally sitting.
bring your ice.
wow!! Mine said non-weight bearing for a month!
sometimes that sleep issue is just common after a major surgery. I know someone who had complications so and it will definitely be prepared for the unknown! Hope your sleep situation improves. Should make a huge difference!
