So.... podiatrist appt today. Not ingrown. He said it was curved tho and cut it down. Not throbbing now,so we will see. When he cut it, most of the fungus is gone. The other toe still has some fungus tho. I'm still using anti fungal and soaking. So hoping maybe I got it early enough...who knows. He said he thought my feet looked good tho so here's hoping. Pictures of before and today in comments. Thanks to all on here , this group really opened my eyes to how bad it can get. I'm gonna try to keep on top of it and no more pedicures!

Top before, bottom after today's appt
Thats not a fungus
What are you using as an anti fungal? Been using Tocylen for a year with 0 change. I supposedly had a mild case so I don’t understand why the medicine isn’t working. My toenails are still lifted on three of my toes. I’m also staying out of the salons! My podiatrist said that keeping gel nail polish on my nails consistently for eight years, contributed to my problem.
Yes, it is.
actually it looks exactly like mine and my podiatrist sent samples to the lab and confirmed fungus
I don't know but when we talked about it the podiatrist did not say it wasn't.
that’s what mine look like too… I’d probably leave it for the professionals to diagnose

it's weird. I had a small spot of fungus on my 4th toe forever. Prob about 8;years. It stayed the same didn't spread, didn't get bigger. I continued to get regular pedicures probably 6 months out of the year. I had one tech mention it the whole time. I did ask my Dr and he prescribed that brush on med which did nothing. Then this winter, it spread to the other toe. I wore slippers a lot this winter cause it was so cold. Normally I'm always barefoot. I wonder if that warm environment caused it to spread.
i have three lifted toenails, too. it's demoralizing.
have you had success with it/
it does look better. I feel like it looks heathier where it's growing in. If you look at the pictures, it looks better. I've only been using about 6 wks so I'm just gonna give it time. The good thing is it's not expensive and it's really easy to use. I'm still using my first pen and it comes with 4.
it’s so frustrating because I can trim the toenails down removing all the damage and it just grows back the same way. As I said I’ve been at it for a year and so the nails have completely grown out but no change.
yup I hear you. I wanted to try the pill but sadly I already have elevated liver enzymes so I’m not a candidate.
i took terbinafine about 5 years ago. on day 5 i started having diarrhea. i got another script for it and i'm going to try pulse dosing--one week on, four weeks off. i'm not going to start it until after i return from my trip.
i just found something that looks very promising. check out my post. itraconazole and terbinafine in a topical!
