Getting bunion surgery today: what to expect in first 3 days

Archive date 8 archived replies

Surgery in 9 hours. I’m so nervous! Currently having breakfast and doing final touches. Excited for the part when I wake up with a new foot. Any recommendations for the first 3 days? I will be non weight bearing.

You are allowed to eat? I had to not have anything to eat within 12 hours of my surgery. The first three days were the worst for me. Take meds as prescribed by the doctor, don’t wait till you have pain. Try to rest as much as you can. I also got a knee scooter to help me around the house. Good luck!
