Update #3. Final dose, day 90, taking Terbinafine (Lamisil). Very obvious improvement from taking it! Now I’m just hoping it continues to grow out since I’m done. What were others’ experiences once finished? My step-dad did the same protocol and his continued to grow out. I think it’s been close to 10 years fungus free for him now. I’m a little nervous because my athlete’s foot still itches I think? You can’t see it all, so I don’t know what that’s about or what that means. I was prescribed different topicals along with the oral medication the last two months, but as usual, those don’t seem to do anything. The itching sensation feels crawly, like sweat dripping across your skin. So I don’t know if that sounds like athletes foot or something else. Athlete’s foot is supposed to be easier to treat, so I found that confusing.

Im glad oral terbinafine worked for you. It did not work as well for me. It took it for 3mo cycles and while it did clear up in the new nail growth but as soon as I stopped the meds it seems the infection came back stronger.

How many pills a day and how many mg?

I couldn't take the oral Lamisil, because it made me sick. After three days of vomiting, I said, "no more." I'm back to home remedies now, and so far, Epsom Salts is working well.

They look so good, I’m so happy for you! Do your nails grow super fast?

I’ve done Terbinafine twice, once 11 years ago and once 2 years ago. Between the first time and a few years later 3 of my nails cleared up, but since my second round it didn’t get rid of any on the toenail that still has it.

Are you still fungus free? I’m thinking about doing the Terbinafine pills

I finished my 90days lamisil. After one month after . I can tell my fungus is still there. Right now three months after.my fungus nails still there. I am so frustrated. My feet itchy too when my feet feel warm or the hot weather.

sounds like it was the your shoe and socks habit. You should get fungul spray for your socks and shoes and spray it daily before you wear it.

it seems like after 90 days you have a near new nail where the infection as grown out and been cut off. I never had more that about 3/4 of new growth and the rest still yellow and infected. Maybe if I’d stayed on the terbinefine longer until a new nail had completely grown out with no sign of old infection it might have worked for me. Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻

I have a plastic shoebox, and use 1 cup Epsom Salts to about half of the shoebox, or how much water covers my foot.

I was pleasantly surprised as well. I’ve had athletes foot for 20 years (couldn’t get rid of it with any anti-fungal topicals). Then it spread to my toenails on one foot, 9 years ago when I was 9 months pregnant.

I was surprised as well! Maybe my nails grow fast? I think also, the top of my nails were the worst part that grew out.

I would say 95% gone after 9 months from starting Terbinafine. I added econazole 1% and foot deodorizer to keep it at bay. If I don’t, I get very small white spots. I sand those off with a disposable drill tip to not reinfect it.

You have to keep treating the athlete’s foot fungus. Wash feet at least once a day and spray with an Antifungal spray. Change socks daily and shoes daily. Treat sandals with an anti fungal shoe spray. This will be an ongoing treatment for at least 6 months.
