Update! The Bronax sneakers from Amazon with wide toe box fit nicely and are relatively cute. They fit my bunions but still small enough in the ankle area. Photo in comments. What type of tennis shoe are people with bunions wearing (before surgery) to support the extra growth? Ive always had narrow feet and they still are narrow in the heal and ankle, but now my bunion hangs over the edge of most athletic shoes. Any recommendations?

Look for "wide toe box" shoes. Trust me on this one, I learned the hard way! Wide toe box shoes are totally different than "wide" shoes. Easily found U.S. brands that have wide toe box shoes, are: Altra and Topos in my city. OR, go on Amazon and search "wide toe box shoes for women" and you will see all kinds of them in "off" brands. Ignore reviews on Amazon that say they are too big in the toes-that's what you'd actually want 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klBBgtOJtT0. ETA: Here's a list I saved that may be helpful to you: https://beyondbarefoot.substack.com/.../a-list-of-wide.... Not sure how current it is.

I bought 1/2 bigger , wide and only full mesh on top sneakers

This is the toughest issue. I’m even struggling with sandals. Altra Lone Peak fit great but I’m conflicted about zero drop. Wide Hokas are okay in the heel area but they aren’t quite wide enough and the side bangs into my ankle bone. I should have sized up in Whitins. They are also zero drop but a good place to start because they are under $50.

Orthofeet. The sneakers that are made of mesh. Wide toe box. If you don't like them after you try you can return if you buy directly from them

I wore Hokas before and now after!

I just found some wide toe box shoes on Amazon called BRONAX, that are only $50 and rather cute. Some of these other brands are just so expensive for me they will have to be a last resort purchase. I'll keep you guys posted!
