Warning: incoming rant.
Warning: incoming rant. Feel free to keep scrolling. Had bunion correction and mid foot fusion in November. NWB for 6 weeks. Hardware (staples) failed 3 months later and removed. Was assured that fusion was successful…many times. Couldn’t take the pain anymore and went for second opinion about 6 weeks ago; confirmed by CT scan, non union. I need a total redo. I’m REALLY trying to tough this out and wait until summer is over to get this done…but I’m in AGONY. EVERY day. I can’t stand for more than a few minutes. Can’t walk any distance whatsoever. I’m so tired of being in pain every single minute of every day. I don’t want to give up my entire summer…it’s my favorite time of year. I just enjoy being in my yard and floating around in my pool; I wait for it all year. That being said…I’m seriously reconsidering. I just don’t know how much longer I can live like this. I simply gave my dog a bath in the kitchen sink this morning, and have paid for it ALL day. I can’t cook a meal. Can’t clean my house. Can’t go out and do the things that I NEED to do. I need to make a decision as to how much longer I’m going to prolong the inevitable. This is physically and mentally unbearable. Thanks for the space to get this out. Warning: incoming rant. If I'm doing something such as dishes I can feel it start to get irritated and then I know i need to go sit down because it can get intense burning wise. Or the other day I was standing talking to someone and it started burning. I was asking Chat GPT and sending photos to it and it is telling me this is not normal at weeks 12 anymore and I should contact the Dr ASAP as it could be CRPS.. has anyone else had this happen when standing on your foot at 3 months post op? I'll call and leave a message with the Dr. Today, just a little freaked out now 😅 In the photo posted, I was standing on it for maybe 2 minutes so I could try to get an example. It turned purple and started burning bad. Im 12 weeks post op and if I am standing, not walking, my foot gets very irritated turns red then purple and burns.
