Has anyone here had a foot reconstructive surgery?

Has anyone here had a foot reconstructive surgery? Where they basically reconstruct your foot and put like screws in it and how long gate your Achilles tendon? What was it like I am so dreading my surgery next month ugh

I have had a triple orthodesis which is similar to what you are mentioning. It is rough with the 3 areas of fusion but I have way more good days than bad

Calcaneous osteotomy on my left with tendon pinned for adult onset flat foot. Mid-foot 3rd and 4th metatarsal fusion for arthritis on right foot. Both were pretty hard surgeries for me. And the reality is that the pain is better but never pain-free. Wish I could go back 30 years and tell myself to wear the good shoes instead of the cute ones. Now, I have arthritis in my left foot.

I had osteotomies on toes 2 - 4 since my toes were curled. Are you having a midfoot fusion? (I didn’t have that.)

same procedure the Achilles lengthening is common from what I understand. Recovery was rough for me personally. But worth it in the end

, my podiatrist has recommended a mid-foot fusion on both feet for arthritis and fallen arches. Foot pain rules my life, and some days I am limited to being home on the couch all day. Would you say the surgery was worth it?

well yes and no. I'm 53 and on my feet 8 hrs a day. The fusion helped the arthritis pain. I think I went back to work too soon. I broke 4 of the 8 screws and had to have them removed. I suggest you take as much recovery time you can. I can dm you some pics if you would like. I wish you the best!!

Oh wow! That sounds terrible! I'm sorry that happened to you!! I was told I would be non-weight bearing for 12 weeks. I work from home, so I guess that would be do-able. Thank you for your response.

I had midfot fusion primarily dr arthritis causing pretty severe nerve pain. Tough recovery. No weight baring for10 weeks,but, nerve pain is gone, and now it's just regular arthritic type pain/soreness. So, I think it depends on how do ur pain is imo

omg I’m so worried about my surgery on July 7. I don’t know how I’m going to get around. I’m trying to find a knee scooter and a bedside commode we have stairs in our house and steps in the front I’m so worried I wish I never agreed to have this
