2 weeks 1 day post op and had my first little walk around the house. That first few steps felt wierd! It's wonderful not having a big lump sticking out the side of my trainer - left foot. You can still make out the lump in my right foot and that is quite a bit smaller than the what the left one was. Feeling quite emotional now. But very happy.

you will Kim. I'm in trainers throughout the day now but I'm putting my boot on for bed so if I go to the loo I can heel walk. I've been told strictly no bare foot walking! Ps I sent you a friend request. 😊

hi shoes all day now. No bare foot walking allowed. I'm wearing my boot at night out of my own choice in case I need the loo. Then I can heel walk to the bathroom. I think it will be too much of a chew on waking up and putting my trainers on.

I think yours is the best result I’ve seen so far. I left mine too long hoping to avoid surgery so it was a big job. My orthopaedic surgeon did extra post grad work (after qualifying in Australia) in the UK and my op was a similar surgical technique with dissolvable external sutures screw and staple. My worst foot was done in March just beginning to ease in with sneakers (trainers), 2nd foot and hammer toe in October … a much easier recovery, swelling almost gone. It’s inspiring seeing your great progress.

Aww thank you. I'm only doing as I'm told mind. And I'm still going to be lying on the settee watching TV most of the time for a while yet. When I had my 2 week check on Wednesday they re-dressed it as my wound hadn't fully closed so another week of keeping it dry. I nearly didn't get this done as I was worried about ever being able to run and compete again. I ran for England for 9 years when I was younger and turning 60 next year I want to have a go at getting back to that standard in my age group. I could have put up with it but I was getting blisters and corns and losing the odd toenail because of my feet being squished in my shoes. And I was splitting shoes all the time as well. If this is as successful as I hope I'll get the right one done next November. ❤️
