Your doctor will give you the most accurate estimate here but I just had mine (lapiplasty + hammer toe & plantar plate correction) and my doctor said minimum of 4 months since my lifestyle is a lot of walking (I mean, it's Europe after all).

I am flying to Japan (moving) 10-11 weeks after my surgery and my doctor said it was fine

Not the same surgery, but I took a 3.5 hour flight 5.5 weeks after. I felt like I could have done it around 4 weeks, but I took my boot off during the flight. It was still uncomfortable and I wish I had more legroom but the flight was sold out so I got what I got.

If your travel is refundable the answer is very different. To be safe- 120 days. This presumes zero complications. Your foot will still be swollen and have some mild pain. Try to get upping your walking at day 90 and work up to 4 or 5 miles before day 120. Good luck.

12 weeks and it was fine. I wore a compression sock there but didn't need it back.

Bunionplasty? Are you referring to MIS procedure? If so, you should be fine in 6 weeks. I've driven 8 hour round trips at 4 and 7 weeks. My foot is fine now. The type of procedure makes a difference in the recovery.

I had a 2 hour flight 7 weeks after and 9 hr Europe trip 10 weeks after. Plus I have been walking 5-7 miles a day in Europe for the last week. All good so far

Depends on your procedure, healing, swelling etc. Risk of bloodcloth? I would ask your surgeon.
