I’ve been in so much pain these last few days my friend who is a nurse, she knows I have a bad bunion on my left foot also suggests I might have a stress fracture? I wonder if it’s a combination of both? I’ve been walking funny due to the pain. And there was some swelling yesterday. Has any experienced a stress fracture due to their bunion? Is that even possible? I think I’ll be getting an xray tomorrow, hopefully to find more answers. Idk if I can wait till my apt in July for a podiatrist

Where do you feel the additional pain? I had a bunion op recently, prior to that I had pain and swelling on the top of my foot….mid foot area. The surgeon found damaged bones and arthritis in that area likely caused by misalignment of the joints due to pressure from the bunion x
I have pain in between my big toe and second toe and on the bottom of my foot. I also had swelling on top near my toes
Anonymous member, that’s where I felt most pain too. Did you have correction of the second toe? I did and when I went to have the dressing changed last week, there was a thick dressing around my big toe as well as dressing around my second toe as well as padding in between. Once it was removed that discomfort disappeared.

Anonymous member, apologies, I misread your post. Yes I had pain where you describe, when I saw the consultant he said the pain was likely from soft tissue damage due to misalignment of my toes and pressure from the bunion. I had swelling at my mid foot and pain underneath my big toe. Your podiatrist will give you a thorough examination, the x-ray should shed some light on it too. X

Yes, I have. Put off my bunion surgery fur years and finally my hammertoe ( second toe ) fractured just from imbalance walking. December 10th had my bunionectomy, hammertoe fracture repair and planter plate correction surgery .
