Steroid shots or surgery. Just had a large one removed. Still healing but feels better than it did before.

I do shots, orthotics and cbd with lidocaine roll on after working.

I have Morton’s in both my feet. No injury required. I’ve done steroid shots and alcohol injections (supposed to deaden the transmitability of the nerve) but I grew tired of being a pin cushion. So now, I deal with the pain. It aches at night and hurts with every step. But the right shoes help a lot. Lots of people like Hoka’s. For me, those were instant numbing...the pressure was in the wrong spot. I like Vionics Tokyo. Get wide width in any shoe to allow your foot room to spread out. Get good supportive slippers to wear indoors. Good luck!

I had surgery to remove them in both feet.

yep I've had MN in both feet - removed by surgery. There are specific MN facebook groups too where people discuss

I did surgery for this where they removed the nerv because i had it really bad. Unfortunately im suffering from more pain now after the surgery. The worst pain is in my toes. I regret the surgery so bad because the nerve pain im living with now is unbearable and no medication seem to work😒 It dosent matter if i stay in bed all day, the pain comes anyway, i would compare it with breaking both my legs at the same same time.

😞 I have high tolerance for pain and kept running until it was too big and start to aggravating my ligaments and metatarsal bones 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

yes...3 yrs ago...still recovering...it got so big that they had to cut my nerve, remove it and put it back...I’ve gain all the mobility in my 2 toes affected but I still feel a big knot under my forefoot...not much pain..more like an inconvenience and stiffness...I guess the healing part is tough... I’m working in the power plant business so all day I’m in steel toe boots and wearing different types of insoles( custom also)... don’t let it out of hand like I did...talk to your doctor...

my understanding is that the nerves are just aggravated from being too close to the bones and rubbing against it (between the toes). What did they remove during surgery??

I understood that a mortons neuroma is when there is an injury to the foot which creates damaged scar tissue between the ttoes and can become painful. My toe injury was a long time ago and my Dr. said he removed a lot of scar tissue and the nerve in the toe.

Neuroma is a thickening of tissue "growth." A nerve was removed in the process. I do have a slight numb spot on both feet between 3rd & 4th toe but not enough to mention really. Doesn't effect anything. Surgery was a year ago. I also had tailor bunion removal at the same time, both feet. I still struggle with feet pain but not nearly as bad as before surgery. I tell every woman I know not to wear high heels and to not exercise in cheap tennis shoes. 😒 I would advise you to stop running until the neuroma pain is managed. You'll just make it worse otherwise.
