The pain and numbness in the middle ball area is probably Mortans Neuroma. It’s basically the nerve there building up scar tissue from getting irritated so much by repeatedly being compressed. I have it in both feet. My doc says it’s very common.

I get injections for this area. Had xray and other tests, shows nothing is wrong... frustrating. I have been wearing harder soled shoes to help. Altra shoes. We will see so far so good.
the inflamed nerve won’t show on an X-ray. They diagnose it based on an ultrasound.
It’s most likely Morton Neuroma...I had the same exact issues... first thing you need to do..change your shoes ASAP and wear some custom insoles..you can’t see neuroma with X-ray...just MRI will .....also Altra shoes won’t help...you need to offload your weight from the forefoot area immediately.... go see another podiatrist... you don’t want to end up like me with 2 neuroma removed from the same spot.. ice, rest, elevate...just my 2 cent...I’m not trying to scare you... oh, and stop doing the roller skating thing 🤷🏻♂️
thank you for so much useful information
anytime..don’t let the scar tissue to build up...take care of it right now...if you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask..Dec 2017 surgery..still have some issues with nerve damage..🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ long time recovery
