New here! 16 days PO (chevron osteotomy, & can't recall what else). I’ve had a lot of orthopedic surgeries, but never before on a foot! Pls excuse the goo from the wrap I just took off . Most of the neuropathy is under my middle toes-it’s not bad/comes & goes. II had it intermittently before & tried the alcohol injections there a few yrs ago, but they didn’t really help; my doc believes it will improve now, as the other metatarsals were shifting over the yrs from the bunion.

Looks really good but could you speak more to the neuropathy issue and how long you’ve had it & the cause? Thank you so much.

Looks great. I had the same procedure and looks like on the same day. My surgeon still has me in the huge wrap. Must feel so good to have the compression bandage instead. How has your swelling been the last few days? Mine has increased in comparison to the week prior.

Thank you! I'm not sure yet if the intermittent neuropathy I'm getting is just residual from the surgery, or the past rearing it's head (I used to sometimes get pretty severe pain in the center-ball of foot on this Right side - not sure if it was from a Morton's neuroma or not). In any case, since I'm not too far out from surgery yet, it's likely too soon to determine.

Thanks! Mine was 9/18. The swelling has been pretty consistent (like the photo) for awhile. Now that I think about it, it's been several days since I've iced it, & I'm up & around on it a lot so I should get back to ice at least once or twice a day! I go back & forth between using the boot, & the shoe (the boot tends to pinch nerves on the top of my foot - so much that the 1st day I wore it, we thought I fractured my 2nd/3rd metatarsal).

Awe you're so kind! Chevron procedure here too; the sutures were removed last week. The boot feels "safer" but after about 10 minutes, starts getting pretty painful on the top at 2/3 metatarsal so no where near my incisions. I was allowed to weight bear once I was given the boot (at 6 days/1st PO appt). He's ok with me just walking in the shoe at this point.

Yes, the shoe is the "ugly surgical shoe" with the 3 velcro straps provided right after surgery. And yes the boot is a hard shell, air cast (with the pump & release things on the front/shin area).

Yep we had surgery on the same day. I cannot wait to be done with this wrap and be able to just wear the surgical shoe. I am jealous you are allowed to bare weight already. What procedure did you have? I had the chevron.

Your scar by the way looks fabulous!!! I thought mine looked good at my two week po but yours is almost invisible!

WOW I am so jealous!!!! By shoe doe you mean the post op show with velcro straps and hard sole? Is the boot an aircast?
