I'm now about 4 months out from MIS surgery carried out on my right foot...
I'm now about 4 months out from MIS surgery carried out on my right foot... and I fully appreciate that unless I open an OnlyFans account, I have a foot that only I could love! My feet are so flat that Donald and Daisy Duck invited me to their family reunion next summer, and I have something called Morton's toe (or Greek foot) and occasionally when I post, someone tends to mention this...in case I didn't know? But... I'm not looking to grace the front cover of Vogue: Podiatrist Edition. I just want a functional foot so I can walk with my children in the sublime company of Mother Nature... and with my right foot, I have that. Being satisfied with the result, though, is only one part of the equation. I've had to reassess my whole shoe collection as I move into the "wide toe box" world. I'm doing my best to strengthen my feet after listening to Dr. Courtney Conley (among others) and continuing to walk as much as I can. In previous posts I've mentioned that I waited waaaaaay too long before proceeding with bunion surgery... but it's been the best move for me. I'll bet that in your personal life, you've experienced things and wondered if you'd ever make it through the storm? But you're still here, like the 8th wonder of the world. You'll need a large helping of patience, a touch of faith and a spoonful of hope. You can make it through bunion surgery. Take good care of yourselves my friends.

Thank you that is just what I needed to read today. As I am still reeling from the idea of having bunion surgery and all my toes refashioned. You made me smile. I hope I can be just as positive when I'm four months out on the other side. Cos then I'll be facing surgery on the other foot too. 🤗

...I did short trips after a month, but the incisions were still sensitive...so I waited 5 weeks in total until I felt fully confident.

...it's important not to rush the process, but it's very individual so it depends on when you feel comfortable.

...I used to read many "negative" experiences but people forget bunion surgery has a 90% success rate. If you focus on rest, recovery and taking care of yourself. I have no doubt you'll make it through...with a new foot that you'll love. Good luck to you my friend.
