Just want to share with people in case it can help someone. I’ve been dealing with PF since 2024. The past 6 months or so I have a lot of leg pain from the knee down. Kept thinking it was tight calves that come with PF. Despite all the massagers and stretches. The pain doesn’t go away. My legs feel so heavy especially when I lay down at night. I obsess in my head about taking a rolling pin to them (don’t ask me why). I mentioned it to the doctor who treats my PF with cortisone shots. He said the heavy leg feeling is a red flag and sent me for ultrasounds. Turn out it’s venous reflux in my legs. They want to do vein ablation. I haven’t decided yet, but wanted to share in case anyone else was dismissing these feelings and thinking it’s due to PF I had no bulging veins. No discoloration. No signs other than the heavy feeling/pain. I’m only 43..

Check the meds you are on. My friend was taking something for cholesterol I believe and the side effect was heavy feeling in legs.

I’m a vascular sonographer and my instructor found my venous reflux on me when I was 20! It’s hereditary. Scanned my mom when we found out and she has it too! It happens because the valves don’t touch to close like they should and keep the blood moving in one direction back toward the heart. . I thought my leg pain was just normal! Turns out it’s not. Start wearing compression socks every day that you can. You’ll notice a difference

Started using this about a week ago, have been using it every day. I notice a difference. My feet and calves have loosened up quite a bit and are more flexible. Less pain in the a.m. I did some trial and error, returning 4 machines before this one. I wish the calf part had more roller action, but it’s definitely helping. In case this helps anyone..

After a year a half of not being able to walk and extreme pain, I got cortisone shots and the pain has been gone since the day after the shot. I know they don’t work for some people, but if you haven’t tried, give it a shot. I don’t know why doctors didn’t offer this to me sooner… they diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and everything under the sun… crazy.

They worked for me temporarily but the pain always came back after about 6 weeks

Did you go to a ortho doc or a podiatrist? I think I need to try this and I don’t know which type of doctor to choose.. any input would be appreciated.
