I have been fortunate with my recovery process thus far. Surgery was 12/5, stitches removed 12/18, and pin removed 1/13. My pain and swelling have been minimal even when my stitches and pin were removed. My toe was a little sore for a couple days after the pin was removed, which was to be expected. I do elevate my foot and put ice behind my knee when not walking on it. My doctor cleared me to start transitioning from my walking boot to a shoe today!
