Can I remove my toenail if it’s dead and falling off ?

Can I remove my toenail if it’s dead and falling off ? I already had an infection on it and stumped my tooth by mistake and it lifted the fungal nail. Looks Like I’m already growing a new one underneath.(pics in comments).

Anonymous member 403 have you done something like this before? I don’t want to pull it off and make it worse. And when i touch the top of the nail it’s soft

Anonymous member yes, mine detached and I pulled it off. If it’s not attached there’s no reason to leave it and easier to treat with it not there.

You could have some bleeding so be forewarned. I would use the medicated liquid bandage 2X a day. Just because the nail falls of doesn't mean it's fungus free.
