My Drs won’t prescribe it either. You take your chances as everyone is different. Some people get away with it. IMO, my liver is important and I’d never compromise it for ugly toenails.

I've been dealing with discoloration on 2 toes for many years.
I've been dealing with discoloration on 2 toes for many years. I've tried a few different prescriptions and OTC none truly worked. I stopped after a while as there was no change. Yesterday I spoke to my nurse practitioner.. I asked about a pill for fungus. She noted she wasn't comfortable prescribing as this can cause liver failure. It's not really bad but bad enough, sometimes it hurts She notes I'd have to take it for a long time. On average how dangerous is that pill, how long would it need to be taken?

Yes the Liver is very important and I don't want to take any chances, but my son took that pill and he is back to normal toenails. I know that there's blood tests that needs to be done during the course of taking that medication Etc. I read something that said that medication disperses the fungus throughout your system through your blood and then it's filtered out through your liver whenever it decides to process it I guess. I would just like to be free of it I've seen some really bad toenail fungus cases mine is not like that it's just discolored
I know many people have taken it successfully but I won’t risk it just for my toe nails. I can live with ugly nails but not without my liver. Is up to you if you take the risk. You are going to need blood work to monitor while taking it.
I just ordered Lunavia fungal pens on Amazon I read good reviews and giving it a try I also had my toenails lasered in April and I go back in mid August for another laser session
My husband has had 2 toe amputations stemming from from fungus that turned into infection in the toes. I’ve got tons of pictures from the beginning to the end of the last one and only a handful from the first one. We have tried all of the “cures” Emuaid max, the pens, listerine and alcohol mix, but he’s already got a high liver count so no pills. I’m currently trying pine salve and borax spray. You really have to go to the mat with this mess and cut out ALL sugar. His specifically is yeast driven.
I took the pill for less than a month. Stopped because it just made me feel bad. Headache, tired, just unwell. I decided I rather have a liver and feel decent than take those pills!
I took it for 6 months, completely cleared it up. Never had any side effects from the pill thankfully x
I started taking medication a month ago and so far have had no side effects. I am due a blood test in 6 weeks to check my liver function. I have tried so many otc products and nothing has worked so hopefully this will. I am being very careful about what I eat and drink so that my liver is not being put under extra strain. 🤞 this will work.
I took it for 3 days and stopped because I was getting dizzy spells, fatigue and just felt awful - it’s not worth it. Phrena cream has worked for me and wearing open toe shoes for 6 months. Sox are washed with anti fungal solution and shoes sprayed with anti fungal spray if I do wear shoes.
I’m on a pulse dose of Terbinafine so I’m on a rotation of one week on the med and then off for 3 weeks since March. It is clearing up along with nail growth but taking a really long time. No side effects of the medication.
I took the empty box with me and gave it to my PCP she said that is mostly for roundworm or something else I forget what they call it but that that's not truly intended for fungus and it's not going to do anything I noticed a little bit of clearing but when I stop the pen it went right back
which laser?
It’s called a pin point laser
i showed the boxes to my primary physician she said that is basically for ringworm or athlete's foot,
well I’m still gonna give it a try I read a lot of good reviews on Amazon
yes I know I’m hearing a lot of negative things about the fungal pins, but I will finish using what I have I was supposed to see the podiatrist recently, but had to cancel and reschedule
I on the nail polish again. It's not even that bad just a little discoloration but I've had this for years now. My nurse practitioner thinks the pill is a bad idea have no liver issue but she says it could even cause liver failure.. I'm not sure what to do anymore
believe me I totally understand and I agree with you I’m a little afraid of taking the prescription pill. I will see what my podiatrist says in October. He may recommend I get lasered again.
Suzanne Gruich Prokopchuk all I've ever had is slightly discoloration and tender no thickness
did you try vicks seems to be working for me
Oh yes. I forgot to list that. We bought that too. I’ve currently got him on borax soaks and a spray for after showers. Along with diet
what is the anti fungal solution you use to wash socks?
I just finished 90 days of Terbinifine with no major side effects. Fungus appears to be gone. Back to wearing sandals. All blood tests came back normal. I hope this does not come back. I follow up with my dr next week.
My son took the pills and is good as New.. My NP does not want me to take it. Even though I don't have any Liver issue
