If you were treating a member of your own family, what would you recommend ? Kathy O'Melia Help! I just don't know where to turn. I am suffering from intense foot pain. A little about me. I am 66 years old. I work 3-4 days a week as a cook. I am on my feet for 8 hours a shift. This is really painful for me. I really need to find a nice desk job. I have neuropathy in my toes. My main areas of pain are my arches (which i am told are flat). Then I have these bumps on the side of my foot at the fifth metatarsal. They ache. I Debbie Anne I fractured foot three months ago , a cuboid fracture and ligament damage, my next physio appointment is in six weeks , I’ve now got a swelling on top of foot near toes I’m wondering why this is happening. Kari Ann I had a stress injury (bone edema no fracture seen on MRI) in my 4th metatarsal and was in a boot for about 8 weeks. My podiatrist cleared me out of the boot- said I didn’t need physical therapy- even though I told him it is still painful. I bought supportive sneakers and am only throwing on the boot when I have to do a lot of walking or will be on my feet for an extended period of time.
