12 weeks post Akin Osteotomy surgery on my left big toe and 7 months post surgery on my right . I’ve been wearing my fancy Pumas 9 weeks post surgery for the left one and just got a new pair . Spoke to the surgeon after 9 weeks and he cleared me for gym and my 10000 steps a day walks. I’ll see him for X-rays in September but no issues . Pain was fine 2 weeks after surgery and no issues at all . Swelling is gone too . Just posting this to say not everyone is the same. Right to Susan Miller Can anyone recommend a pillow for elevation after surgery. Something that works better than a stack of cushions. UK based. Many thanks Louise Yogini Day 32 post-op. Just had my first physical therapy session. First she evaluated both my leg and foot strength, balance and range of motion. Then she massaged around my incision to break up some of the scar tissue (I still have some of the scab, so she avoided those areas). The massage also included moving my toes around to help regain mobility. Next were the exercises which were focused on regaining range of motion. Some of them were Stephanie Vandersall 2 week update - had a good visit with the PA a couple days ago. Cleared to get my foot wet. Pain and swelling improving slowly though my foot still definitely prefers being iced and elevated most of the time. I go back to work tomorrow (I work from home). Nervous about sitting at my desk even with my leg up so will see how it goes. Highly recommend the pictured foot/ankle pillow.
