Can you share a photo of which keen shoe you have:) Glad to hear you are feeling better! That's a long time. Mine started in Oct. PT helped me a lot! Then I did 5 sessions of shock therapy( at PY office) and I really think I'm at the end of this! I was wearing Hoka kowana when this began. Now I think that's what caused it but PT says no.

After 4 years of PF in both of my heels, it’s FINALLY getting much better!
After 4 years of PF in both of my heels, it’s FINALLY getting much better! I have been going to PT off and on the whole time and honestly, stretching my calves, Graston (massaging my soleus and anterior tibs.) and changing my shoes have been the most help! I switched to Keen tennis shoes from Brooks and I can’t believe the difference! It was already beginning to get better, but now I can walk my dogs for an hour and it just starts to hurt near the end of the walk. A month ago, I could only tolerate half an hour of walking. I have also lost 22lbs in the last 9 months or so with help of GLP1’s. I think that has helped too. Don’t give up! I wonder if it’s just a matter of finding the right combinations of things that personally help and it has to also run its course. Those shoes though! Huge help!

I wear keen newport hiking sandals because of bunions. Glued on an extra insole. Such a wide toe space. Also Oofas flip flops seem to be helping a lot. Lots of stretching, naproxen, magnesium glycinate, cbd massage, pulse massager....im able to walk without shuffling again. I even go dancing. Must ice regularly too. But life is much better. It's a maintenance program.
The right shoes are so important. For me it was Altra Paradigm 8 zero-drop shoes. I'm completely healed now.
I’m curious which brooks did you have? I’m switching shoes because I think my brooks caused some of my issues. My pain is also strictly in my heels. I think I’m going to try a myofacial massage to help my tight calves and hamstrings.
Are these the type shoes
This makes me feel more hopeless. I was wearing Brooks when I developed the pain. Ugh I'm an anomaly and will never get better. So happy for you.
Nice to read a success story for once!
So glad u r feeling better. U r an inspiration!
mine started because I wore custom orthotics for knee pain in my Nikes and I was doing to much incline on a treadmill. That’s what started it all. I’m sure different shoes help different people. Like I said, mine is completely in my heels. My arches never hurt. They run kind of big. I ordered a half size smaller. They still feel kind of big, but my toes are up there. I think it’s because they have a bigger toe box.
what is shock therapy? I'm new to this. Sorry.
I have been using Brooks Addiction walkers for a few years as I have no arch. They started to hurt so I backed off walking, got new ones and here I am. I am now in the softer Brooks Adrenaline GTS with a powerstep insert for PF and it feels like heaven. I still have pain as I am new to this. 62 and flat footed, barefoot walking woman and now Im paying the price. I must say is that I have it in both heels too.😳
Adreniline. They have a quiz on their website which was very helpful. I tend to supinate when I walk. They were definitely better than Nikes or New Balance.
these
They run a little big.
thx
I was wearing Nikes. The Brooks helped at first, but I realized it was time to get new shoes. I bought Keens hiking boots for an upcoming trip. I wore them around the house and was 100% pain free all day! I knew they also made tennis shoes, so I bought them with the same result. Everyone is so different.
I can’t wear Brooks or Hokas as they are the wrong shape. Take a good look at your foot and get shoes that are the same shape and don’t impinge on any toes. It might take a lot of searching but worth it.
