Anyone have great tips/resources for short-foot/ foot doming exercise? I’ve watched 30 (at least) videos and my foot physically can’t do it. My PT was clearly frustrated that I couldn’t do it, so trying to figure it out.

Great question!!! It took me weeks to see progress. It’s not easy. Nothing is with the feet. Lol. Try shifting your weight slightly to the outside part of your foot with your toes flat. This naturally raises the arch dome. And in due time, you will get stronger and have more control. Stay with it. Rome wasn’t built overnight. Best of Luck

MysticalPhoenix2855 I have a question for you since you seem very knowledgeable on this subject. I walked the Camino de Santiago with a case of PF that was pretty bad by the end. I’ve been doing Dr. Angela’s exercises since I returned to the States and have improved about 80%. My question is about shoes. I’m wearing Altra on walks. I wear EVA Birkenstocks when I’m not wearing Altras. What are your thoughts on that combination?

I’m no shoe expert by any means but I can give you my opinion. You are only 20% from the finish line. Your feet seems happy with your shoe combo and your rehab routine. Continue doing what you are doing and don’t change squat. PF is such a slow healing process…and extremely temperamental to quick change…Don’t look at day to day progress but rather week over week or month over month Having said all that…my rehab journey from start to finish taught me several lessons. Anything that goes on my feet gets microdosed…I will only wear wide toebox shoes with toe socks…I will always stretch before any physical activity…And I will never neglect the strengthening of my posterior chain again

MysticalPhoenix2855 Thanks. Your advice is the same as ChatGPTs. 😁 I’ll stick with alternating between Altras and Birkenstocks. I’m also wearing toe socks with the Altras. My wife wore them for our Camino. I laughed at her the whole time. I’m not laughing now.

Can you do toe yoga? Try lifting the big toe up and down and lifting little toes. Sometimes building those muscles help. I always squeeze mine until I get a cramp or at least thats why I was told. Although it did not help me.

Have you tried it while sitting as a starting point? And maybe holding your toes flat with your hand? Then progress from there.
