Big toe joint pain alongside plantar fasciitis: related issues?

Archive date 18 archived replies

Does anyone suffer from toe pain with their planta fasciitis? The side of both of my big toes are in pain, like near the 'knuckle' going towards the nail, it is definitely not an ingrown toenail. thank you in advance

My big toe hurts on top all through the knuckle/joint part

It could be from you walking different

Toe stretchers help relieve my toe pain.

Also, what shoes are you wearing? Are they tapered? Which can cause big toe issues. How is your range of motion with big toe? Maybe look into soft tissue therapy and reflexology

It might be gout. Ask your Dr for a blood test for uric acid level.

Have you gotten an X-ray? I have a bone spur on my big toe, which I think ultimately a couple of years later is the root cause of my PF since it threw off my gait somewhat while running

Yes! I find Oofos make it worse or any kind of slip on shoe. I think it is friction and/or pressure aggravating the area area around the toenail. Worse when I get chilblains too!

haven’t found anything to help. I had surgery for PF 7 weeks ago and the toe pain went away for maybe 5 weeks now it’s back

that is very interesting, I don't have anything like that, I mainly wear 'runners' keeps everything safe lol not lol

yeah I guess they're lace ups, they do have shoe laces. too tapered? I don't think so. I wear means shoes and I have wide feet and always buy wide shoes......thank you for trying to help me
