I got my 1st steroid shot in my foot, what can I expect? Any dos or don'ts? Shared post Kelly Coe Hi, I’ve been having crazy pain in both my feet it’s been going on for years, I figured it’s arthritis. I already know I have arthritis in my jaw joints, neck, back, and hands. I’ve just been dealing with the pain ive been too burnt out with severe mental illness to look into seeing a podiatrist. My PCP basically blew me off about it. But anyway, at first it was sharp aching pain that was only really bad after walking for a while and this chafing type pain that is hard to explain in both feet and toes, I also get sharp pain on the top of my feet. Recently, I have been starting to have burning tingling pain in both my feet all on the bottoms of my feet my toes and it will actually wrap around the top of my feet. My feel also go numb really easily. I don’t have diabetes. I just had blood work done. Also my feet now hurt 24/7, walking makes it worse, I think standing is even worse than walking. They burn pretty much all the time now. Especially my toes, the balls of my feet and my heels. Booth feet are very bad, I can’t walk in the house w/o shoes. the left seems to be worse. I feel like I’m walking on open wounds. I’ve tried soaking them in ice, soaking them in hot water. I’ve tried Voltaren. I’ve tried lidocaine patches. Stretching, that was a bad idea! Advil and Tylenol do nothing. My PCP had been prescribing me Celebrex for arthritis and that didn’t help me at all for anything. Ik I need to get into a podiatrist but my Medicaid got screwed up a few months ago I’m not covered again until June. i’ve been told by a rheumatologist I have fibromyalgia due to wide spread chronic pain but idk about that. Does anyone else experience these symptoms? what has helped you. I feel like no one even knows what's wrong with them. Going on 7 years battling pain in the Tops of my feet. Resting them only makes them better until I start using them again. I've tried gabapentin ( didn't work plus I hated how it made me feel). I've tried several pain meds that barely help , but also can't be on forever. Had xrays and even two emgs (?) ( testing nerves) with no results that explain this I'm 57. I want to hike with my husband and family! I want to go on walks, I want to do regular daily activities without needing to prop my feet and ice them. 😞. Cortisone shots are the only thing that helps for any length of time, but taking those several times a years really damages the bones ( and I have severe osteoporosis in my family). A few months ago I even found a clinic that does PRP ( platelet replacement therapy) and lasor therapy. I thought I'd found the answer. But it wasn't. 😞. I could barely sleep last night because of the pain. Does anyone else have this issue, and have you found relief? I'm at my wits end. ( pain on tops of feet ( possible tendinitis?) and worsens when walk or stand for any periods of time) ???? Sorry for the rant. I'm just feeling so depressed about this. Ps also have fitted (for me) very expensive orthotic insoles and tried every pair of shoes,.... 😞 and PT I am incredibly frustrated and depressed about my feet. . I’ve been to several foot drs to try to find out what’s wrong. I’ve had mri’s, X-rays, ultrasound, cortisone shots, change in shoes, orthotics and even was in a cam walker boot for 6 months. This pain is absolutely horrible when walking, bending the toe, pushing lightly on it etc. I have gotten basically no answers and this pain hasn’t gotten any better. I’m having another MRI in a week.
