I’m 5 weeks post op had a cast for 4 weeks and now in a boot for 2 weeks I find first thing in the morning is the hardest, after laying down (tossing all night) then to put the boot on to walk is like starting all over again. Yesterday I realized I was walking weird And had to focus one foot at a time! 1 1/2 weeks to go before trying to get into a regular foot wear. Then 2 weeks to drive! It’s my right foot so that will be weird. I’ll need to focus to be “Normal” Anyone else feel this way?

I'm 3 months post surgery and been out of the boot 2 weeks. Still walking strange although it gets better every day. Just say in hospital waiting for X-ray and then hopefully discharged. Toe doesn't hurt but ankle on same foot kills and hip on opposite side

Yes, scooter, crutches, boot all throw off your hips, spine and gait. My surgeon didn’t recommend physical therapy so I practiced walking, chin up, looking ahead, without limping every day. Within 2 weeks, I was walking normally.

I’m over 4 months post surgery and still walk with a slight limp, worse when I’m trying to get somewhere quickly. Physio has been an absolute godsend, highly recommend it
