May 27th i had my left big toe fused. My other 4 toes were fine and straight. About a month ago 3 of my other toes have started to curl over. My surgeon said the only way to fix them is to go to physical therapy then to have them pinned. I went yesterday and got a second opinion. I got told to stop physical therapy for now because its not going to help will after the toes are fixed. She told me right now they dont need pinned at all. She can straighten the toes just when you let go they just curl back up. So october 1st she is going to do flexor tenotomy on 3 of my toes. Im going to just let her do it in the drs office instead of in the OR. Anyone have just done? Whats recovery like?

I had a tendon release done on my 2nd toe as it was a hammer, 12 months later it now crosses over over my big toe as I have severe bunions ( which give little trouble). Now to fix cross which hurts I need to have the bunion fusion op and 2nd toe operated on. Be aware of possible outcomes, after tendon release mine felt weird & out of place. As your bunion is done already it should be different. All the best let us know how you do after

thanks. Orthopedic dr said there may be that chance of needing them pinned but she is very hopeful of this working. Since I need the bunion on my other foot done she said she will also do the flexor tenotomy on that foot when she does surgery.

As im in mid 70s and have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis i have no choice apparently cording to 2 specialists in public system but to have fusion. I am rather concerned after reading lots of posts here.

i have osteoporosis and osteoarthritis also but im only 49. My left big toe was fused. My right one will be fused also.
